Return Policy

We’re a small independent record store, and we want every customer to be happy with their purchase. The guidelines below outline how returns, exchanges, and refunds work at Resident Vinyl.
1. RETURNS & ELIGIBILITY
You must contact us within 7 days of delivery to report an issue or request a return.
Returns are accepted for unopened, unused items in their original condition and packaging.
We do not accept returns of more than one copy per title. Bulk purchases and reseller orders are final sale.
Returned items must be packaged securely. If an item arrives damaged due to improper packing, the return may be denied.
2. REFUNDS
Refunds apply to the cost of the item only. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Eligible returns are refunded to store credit only. When we provide a prepaid return label, a return shipping fee depending on weight of package will be deducted from the credit amount.
Store credit does not expire and can be used online or in-store.
3. DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED ITEMS
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days and include:

Photos or a short video of the issue
We will review the case and determine whether a replacement or store credit is appropriate.
Please note that minor cosmetic imperfections such as corner dings, seam splits from transit, and shrink wrap tears do not always qualify as defects.
4. VINYL COLOR VARIANTS
Suppliers and manufacturers sometimes change vinyl colors, pressing variants, or packaging without notice.
Because these changes are beyond our control, vinyl color may differ from the images or descriptions shown on our website.
These differences do not qualify as defects, and orders may be fulfilled with the closest available version when substitutions occur.
5. EXCHANGES
If you would like to exchange an unopened item, please contact us.
Exchanges follow the same guidelines as returns, including customer-covered shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
6. LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES
Once an order is marked Delivered by the carrier, Resident Vinyl is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
Customers should verify shipping information carefully at checkout.
If something goes missing, we can assist with opening an inquiry, but replacements or refunds are not guaranteed.
7. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
International customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.
Customs duties, import taxes, and fees are non-refundable.
Store credit will be issued once returned items are received and inspected.
8. FINAL SALE ITEMS
The following items cannot be returned or refunded:

Limited editions

Numbered or exclusive pressings

Record Store Day (RSD) titles

Discounted sale items

Gift cards

Used or pre-owned vinyl

Digital or promotional items
9. RIGHT TO REFUSE RETURNS
Resident Vinyl reserves the right to refuse returns that:

Do not meet the above criteria

Are outside the 7-day window

Are opened, used, or damaged
-
Appear to be reseller-driven, fraudulent, or excessive
