Before Big Thief, Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek toured the country in a white conversion van named Bonnie, playing songs as a duo. In 2014 they released two warm, acoustic EPs from those years, a-sides and b-sides.

a-sides and besides gathers 14 of those songs, including "Jonathan," "Indiana" and "Angels," on one LP from 4AD. It's an early look at the band they were about to become.
