"Puppy Love" was Dolly Parton's first single, released by Goldband Records in 1959. She wrote it with her uncle Bill Owens, and she and her grandmother rode the bus to Lake Charles, Louisiana to record it. The B-side, "Girl Left Alone," was written with her aunt Dorothy Jo Owens and Bill Owens. Yep Roc and the Southern Folklife Collection first reissued the single in 2017, and this is the first time these recordings have been pressed on colored vinyl, here on pink.
