The Interrupters are more than just a band, they are a family. That's true in the literal sense (vocalist Aimee Interrupter is joined by guitarist Kevin Bivona's twin brothers Justin Bivona and Jesse Bivona on bass and drums), and it's true of their extended relationships too. From their early roots in the San Fernando Valley to Aimee Interrupter's emergence as one of the most exciting frontwomen in music, the band have established themselves as an alternative powerhouse. For their fifth full-length album, Battle Scars, The Interrupters reunited with longtime collaborators: Kevin produced alongside Tim Armstrong (Rancid, Operation Ivy), with Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion), Jesse Michaels (Operation Ivy) and Travis Barker (blink-182, Transplants) also on board. From the anthemic "Warrior Spirit" and explosive "Wild Heart" to "Unbreakable," "Stained Glass Window" and the deeply personal "Legacy," Aimee Interrupter turns stories of survival, resilience, forgiveness and growth into songs made to be shouted back from the crowd. Recorded live to analog tape, the album captures the chemistry and intensity of a band playing together in the same room. Battle Scars is The Interrupters at their most fearless: a celebration of perseverance, connection and the warrior spirit that keeps us moving forward.
