Twenty One Pilots - Scaled and Icy (LP)

2021 release. Written and largely produced by Tyler Joseph in isolation at his home studio, with Josh Dun engineering the drums from across the country, Scaled and Icy came out of long-distance virtual sessions. It finds the duo working through upended routines and the feelings of 2020: anxiety, loneliness, boredom and doubt. Without their usual studio sessions they reached a new level of introspection, taking a bolder, more imaginative approach to songwriting. The result is a set of songs that push through setbacks and focus on what's worth remembering.
